Agnes Martian began as weekly ritual of free form cosmic exploration. These jams were the musical extension of a shared home called Agneshaus that functioned as a locus of gathering and community. We invited friends from a variety of musical backgrounds to join our sessions.

Ben, Pétur, and Zekarias set out to record what would become The Future Light Cone in the final few hours before the Bay Area’s shelter in place order took effect in March 2020. The album would slowly begin to reveal its shape to us over the course of the first year of the pandemic as we experimented with a wide variety of sounds to weave together its dense soundscapes. Once we could safely collaborate in person again, gin’s vocals gave the songs further definition.

The Future Light Cone is an invitation to a moment where we groove past the tyranny of the possible
